I currently have a Razr with T-Mobile and would like to switch to Verizon so I can buy the Q.

It is $200 and has been that amount for the last couple of years. So if you just signed up it is $200, if it has been more than a year more than likely your contract is already up. T-Mobile only signs people up with a 1 year contract.
Why would you want to switch companies just for the phone? The Q is not that cool - Try the MDA

unfortunately, you have to pay a lot of money. I tried the same thing. t-mobile sucks big time

depends on your contract. most companies have a penalty for early termination that can be several hundred dollars.
