I have been seeing the term "bio" instead of "bi" in questions lately about bi-sexuality or ambisexuality. Is this a new term or are people just bad typists, or misinformed? I have never heard of anyone describing themselves as "bio."

While I'm on the subject, what's an "emo" person? I assume people are not referring to Emo Phillips.

There are alot of people on here who aparently make LOTS of typos......and never go back and edit them.( drives me nuts, too)
Lets see, the "O" is right next to the "I" on the keyboard......I'm sure thats why they type " bio ".Its an accident.
To define an "EMO"...... I have a teenage daughter who has friends that consider themselves EMO......
EMO means ( in todays youth) EMOTIONAL!
This particular "cult " of kids like to wear punk hairstyles with bright colored chunks, or mostly black, punk clothes, sometimes similar to "Goth" ,
they listen to a particular style of music, usually termed "love metal" IE; hawthorne heights, HIM, the used....
most that I have met identify themselves as bisexual, the boys kiss other boys unashamedly right in the hallway at school.....
They are generally the outcasts from their peers...
and the most identifying characteristic they share is that they are "emotional CUTTERS"..... which means they do themselves harm.
Hope I've shed some light!

the term is still bi... i think that most who are saying bio really don't know they just wanna talk about it. An emo person is something like a punk person, but anyone who is emo and reads that i just compared them to punk will be pissed, but thats the way i see it. They're the same lame losers trying to make a statement about being different when they are still just like a lot of other people.

Bio is short for biology. Which sort of relates to bisexual, but not really.

Also, emo stands for emotional.
