There are some tampons by Platex that are for youngsters who just started. Try Slimfits by playtex. Recommended is regular. They are smaller and easier to use bc they have gentle glide plastic applicators. If you can't find those, there are some by playtex for light days they are small too. Avoid tampons with paper applicators and those that do not have applicators they are easier to insert uncomfortably. Make sure she knows the rule on changing them every 2-4 hours and maybe have her wear a light always pad as back up incase she finds the tampons uncomfortable or not what she expected. The website below will have helpful information on choosing the right tampon and how to talk to your teen about their period and tampons. Check it out!

My first thought would be to go ahead and coach her through using a tampon- goodness knows they can be more convinent and comfortable then a pad once you get the hang of it!
However, with a younger girl, it might be a good idea to give your Ob-Gyn a buzz and see what his or her feelings are.
Oh, and even before you call your Ob- using a tampon does not make you lose your virginity!!!! To be technical, having penetrative vaginal sex with a male partner will make one "not be a virgin anymore". As a tampon is mostly cotton and not a live male human, using a tampon will not cause you to lose your virginity.
Who the hell starts these rumors, anyway??????

Let her try whatever she wants. The worst thing I had to go through with my mom was me wanting to use a tampon-I don't like the diaper feeling that comes along with pads. You will save time if you go along with what I say though:
Every female has their own preference no matter what age. it doenst mean she wont be a virgin. Or "loose" Virginity is only lost with penile penetration.
Let her use a Tampon. They have Junior Tampons from platex and other name brands.

No. No. No. It's far too early.
Wait at least until she's a teen or, at very earliest, a pre-teen. There is an increased liklihood of infection and toxic shock syndrome though the use of tampons. I don't think a 10-year old is mature enough to properly utilize one.
The use of tampons is a very serious undertaking, with potential serious consequences on one's feminine and potential reproductive health. That decision should be made quite a bit in the future, and it should ultimately be........hers.

If she wants to use a tampon I would just let her use it. Some people think that tampons are uncomfortable. I could not use one till I was about 17

I say no. Just as far a personal experience. I am really small and they always felt uncomfortable for me even the tiny ones. If the person has not had sex yet, I think they shouldn't use a tampon. It will break their hymon and that usually happens when you first have sex. You know that has to hurt. There are also risks with tampons that don't come with pads.

Don't let her why would you even ask this question.I mean your daughter is 10 years old what she needs to use a tampon for she is way I mean way to young to even consider thinking about using a tampon.Once she uses a tampon she won't be considered a virgin anymore.
