Yes, I'm afraid you were in the wrong on that one, my dear. First of all, did you provoke dear old granny? What caused her to chuck that mango in the first place? Either Granny threw her fruit for no reason at all, in which case she's crazy and needs help. Or you said/did something to upset her. Either way, you shouldn't be kicking your grandmother. You've heard the old saying about two wrongs not making a right, I'm sure.
Secondly, you know that Grandma is older and weaker than you, so anything you do to her can potentially have detrimental consequences. If a child were to throw a mango at you, would you have responded similarly? We do not have the right to hurt those who are weaker than us simply because they are in the wrong.
Do yourself a favor. Apologize to Granny. Figure out why she's mad at you and try to repair the relationship as much as possible.

Yes you shouldn't have kicked her. How old is she? did she sustain any injuries like a broken hip or leg? It was wrong for her to throw the mango but you should not have retaliated by kicking her. You could have just left the room.

You should never kick your granny. Your daddy needs to take a belt to your bottom and make you apologize.
