You are not going to find a $30 hotel anywhere. If you do you will probably be in a flea ridden motel and get shot by some gang. Maybe you should think about a shorter vacation closer to home

I've stayed in Aventura, FL - which is almost the exact halfway point between Miami and Fort Lauderdale and the cheapest I've paid is $69 a night at a Hampton Inn.
For $30 a night you're not going to find a decent or sometimes even clean room. Never mind a safe place.

Even if you find a motel for that price, you'll be broke in 3 days, just handing out "tips" and paying for valet parking everywhere you go. Even to shop at a mall costs you an average of $13 parking for 5 hrs. If you don't have a car, you'll spend the better part of your trip on a bus, listening to the stories of the homless. Good luck. If I were you, I'd go to Orlando with the kids, and consider a day-trip to Miami.

They are non-existant! Trust me. Even the oldest, dirtiest, and most unsafe hotel goes for $60+ a night... just because it is Miami and it is such a tourist hot-spot. You might want to try camping or renting an RV because that might end up being cheaper. Good luck and I hope you enjoy FL!

check hotwire.com i always get great deals on those...there are hotels u can get for less than that if you know the areas. I recommend staying not in the beach or Brickell or Downtown or the Gables. Try Airport North/ Hialeah/Miami Lakes/Dadeland/Homestead/Doral...... But you would need to drive...thats the bad thing

shorten your stay to 1 week and you will be able to afford a room for 100+ a night...there's not too many things to do in Miami for two weeks...travel around..either to the Keys or to Orlando..they're very fun places to be. good luck and have fun!!

I use priceline.com and bid, altering dates until I get my price, often as low as $25 for comfort inn, red roof inn, etc. My latest score (for later this month) is a $120 per night 4 star room in Nashville for $48.
