out over the fireworks last night? Did they do something funny? One year we had a dog that literally would NOT go in the shower stall because she thought that meant "bath". You'd have to fight tooth and nail to get her in there. One year fireworks started going off .... I was in the bathroom and she came running in and jumped in the shower and this time I couldn't get her OUT>>> lol Anything funny your pet/pets do during fireworks or storms?

my two dogs had two diff reactions. My female she was cool and even came outside and sat with us and watched the fireworks. She was not scared the least bit. Now my male dog...different story!! He is a little bit of an odd dog to begin with. We have had him for 3 years and have a 2-story house. Well in 3 years he has NEVER went upstairs. He is afraid of stairs so we never made him go up.
So I go upstairs and there he is just sitting and trembling. I take him back downstairs and before I knew it he was back upstairs hiding under the baby's crib. He stayed up there for two days!! Yesterday we have gotten him downstairs but he is still scared to go outside. It seems like everytime we walk him out there would be another POP and he would dash inside and hide again. Well at least he ate last night...something he wouldn't do on the 4th.

My female...being well female knows he is scared does she make it better? No she runs up to him and messes with him by barking and nipping at him like "whatcha scared about boy huh"
Thanks goodness it's over for him now!!

My parents had a dog that hated any kind of loud noise. Fireworks, thunderstorms, guns, balloons popping...all were cause for great terror. One year he tried to get behind the TV stand and knocked the TV right off, scared him just as bad as the thunderstorm that sent him back there looking for cover! We have 2 dogs now, one is a 14 year old cocker spaniel/poodle mix and he shakes so bad during storms, fireworks, etc. If it is at night, he tries to climb under the covers with whoever left their door open at night - he can be pretty nimble for an old dog when a thunderstorm hits.

My dog barked at the fireworks and tried to get through the fence to chase after them. It didn't matter if the fireworks were ours or the ones set off by a neighbor. He liked the loud ones best.

I dont have any pets now but I used to and dogs are scared of fireworks. They dont like fire. Most animals dont. Try doing that close to a horse once. It will probably run.

Our lab--Jessie--hates storms. She will hide in her dog house outside. This year was the first year I actually saw her around fireworks. She thought they were playthings. My son would light them and she would chase them. They even put them on the ground burning and she would pick them up and run with them. Crazy dog!!
