First, you need to get yourself a Federal Tax ID #. You can get one in about 15 minutes by downloading the Form here:

http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=98350,00.html

& Filling it out, than call the 1-800 # on the phone. Next, contact the Department of Revenue in Your State & ask them for a Resale Tax ID Form, so that you can get a re-sellers license.

Depending on the state the ID fee will be from $10-25.

Hope that Helps!

Here is the IRS link to get an EIN (Employer Identification NUmber). You can get one online in minutes.

With this you can get your State sales tax account number so you can "purchase for resale".

Contact your state treasurer and apply for a tax exempt number. You may have to pay a fee for this number and will have to renew it after so many years.

My parents own their own small business, and I know there is a lot to do to get started up. Good luck to you!

You get it from your state government when you register your business. There is no charge for it in Pa. but your state may be different.
