Independence day only happens once a year...you have never been at a party that was keeping the neighbor up till all hours of the night??

No, we've had a lot of fireworks in our neighborhood for about a week leading up to the 4th, but it was quiet every night by 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. Our community fireworks were held right across the street from a hospital and I thought about the patients, though is wasn't late--9:30 to 10:00. Hopefully, you'll have some peace and quiet tonight.

I have had midnight trains running in the middle of the night and through the night just below and next to my house back home, so the whistling mild fire crackers in this country didn't affect me at all. You should hear the fireworks for Diwali in India! You won't be able to sleep for atleast a week!

I'm with you! We also have a 2 week old baby and he did not like all the loud bangs and whistles. I knew the town fireworks display would be loud (we're surrounded by mountains and everything echos) but the locals shooting off their fireworks (illegally, I might add) was more than annoying. The baby was fussy and cried most the night.

Yes us too ! I think it was taken to a real expensive extreme this year.
Every corner was selling them & we have all kinds of left overs from the fireworks all over our yard. They started them a week before & they will probably still be tonight. Gheesh ! grow up ! Use all that money for something sensible like GAS in your car !!
