Well, I don't like rap and I love rock. The reason for this thinking is because Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd have a deep meaning to their songs and it sounds good. Rap is really just a compiling of words with extremely suggestive themes to shoot people and do drugs, which will only bring you to jail and depression. Some rock does in fact have references to drugs, but they aren't as suggestive as rap. Pink Floyd has songs like Comfortably Numb which is about Roger Waters doing drug for the first time. They never use direct references to drugs, or being high, either. Some people listen to rock for the meaning, some people only listen to it for the good music. Rap, however, only brings their audiences to a ghetto lets-do-drugs-because-we'll-be-just-like-50-cent. That really won't get you anywhere in life. Rap will in a sense make you stupid and more blind towards the present and rock can teach you lessons about life without you doing drugs.

Rock. I am a musician. To try and pull off what the legends do and record it is hectic. Rap does not compare. Rap does not nearly take as much skill or talent as classic rock.

ROCK! ..Although some rap is cool. For me, most rap is missing the essential element of music. And also, to me, the music comes first, and the lyrics come second.
