Hello. I want to read Canterbury tales. What guide can I use to have it explained to me as I read it? A lifetime ago when I was in highschool we read one or two of the storys and my professor did a great job explaining all about the symbolism and what things meant. I bought the penguin edition and I know if I just read it now I won't understand all the contexts and meanings of what is there. Anyone know of a good guide to help me along please? Thank you.

Sparknotes.com, or Cliff's Notes (available at most libraries).
Also try finding a used copy with someone else's notes in it.

www.cliffnotes.com... They have alot of stuff that will help explaining what's going on and the different symbolism and foreshadowing (and anyother lit. terms). It helped me with Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad... Highly recommend it... And it's free!
