no, just eat more fruits, cut down on the carbs, and eat less fats, basically just change your diet, and exercise. Try walking its free it won't cost you a thing, and it get the blood flowing to your brain. You brain is very dependent on sugar(glucose) without it your body won't function right, when it goes everything else goes.

No! None of the medications have good side effects. Only when you had your blood sugar really shoot up, in case of diabetes and then you had it reduced to normal level, you can see an improvement. But, as far as I know, I haven't heard of such a thing.
