Open your email in "full headers" and find the domain or IP address that originates the email.

Then go to a site like http://whois.domaintools.com/ and find the address.

A warning for you. Many emails are just an attempt to find active email addresses that can sold as mailing lists. By answering the emails, you run the risk of getting even more.

If it is commercial spam or junk then do not reply, do not even open it if possible. If you open or reply to spam, you will verify that your email address is good and you will get more spam.

If it is someone who has sent you a personal note - and you are sure they know you - then yes, replying is usually the best way.

Good Luck
