If you believe that you are old enough to make your own desions then tell them how much you love them but that you think that it is time to move into a new chapter in your life. If they know this guy then it may not be to hard, but they do not then bring over for dinner someday so that your parents can see how great you two are together. Don't let your parents ruin a love that may be perfect to you. Believe me I know how hard it is to want something so badly and almost lose him because of my parents. Remember that they are your parents and they will always love you. Now I am not saying that they won't be angry, but you never know they may be totally okay with it and you spent all of this time worring. But you will never know unless you tell them. Good luck hon and remember to be who you are and no one else. Your parents will respect that.

Depending on how old you are you shouldn't have to explain.....

Just tell them that you need to start your own life and be grown up.
