I personally checked Bill Gates and his spouses philanthropic contributions when I was looking for money to return to school. The give a lot of money to education and many other worthy causes, a LOT of money. I found him and his spouse genuinely responsible for giving back to a world that has so freely given to them. I did not check "The Donald", after seeing him spend $18 million dollars on another wedding to even another Barbie and being that I was hungry that day, FACT, I couldn't ask what I may not want to know. Being rich is not a crime, NOT giving money back to those in his organization IS. Or outright stealing it from employees such as was the ENRON situation.

I think you are misinformed. A LOT of his personal money goes to the Gates Foundation, which helps fund organizations in the health and education fields, in all countries. He has funded educational and health programs in the US, and lots of them in places like Africa.
The company's profits, some of the, are plowed into the company and reimburse shareholders. I don't think Microsoft has terribly high dividends, but the company's profits are not Gates' to do with as he pleases, legally.

Poor Bill. Giving away his wealth to needy organizations, and STILL getting crap for it. He can do what he wants. It's his money, and as long as we keep giving our tax dollars to those poor countries overseas, and cutting our own programs to help our citizens, we will need his money here. It seems to be a popular opinion that poor Americans are lazy, and poor foreigners are desperate victims of their governments. Sad...

You need to seperate what he personally is doing with his private income with what his Gates Foundation is doing for charity. Which one are you upset about?
I don't see anything wrong with his foundation looking after good American charities. We as Americans should look after our own.

He has responsibilities to his share holders. And he has given over $50B away.
Get your facts straight... The fight against aids, genocide and poverty in African nations are huge benefactors of his trust.
