i have an in-ground pool and was kind of curious of the same thing so i did some research. yes it does increase your policy premium. how much depends on a lot of circumstances. check it out:

Only if the insurers know you have one.
Of course, keeping it a secret is tough.
The insurance cost increases, but so does the value of the home, especially noteworthy if you plan on renting, selling, or mortgaging.

Yes, your insurance goes up.
Yes, there are other safety rules by the city.
Yes, it is a monster that has to be kept clean and ph balanced. Every week, the pool man expense.

don,t know Ohio laws, but here where I,m from definatly YES, cause if someone gets hurt, like slipping & hurts there head, or heaven forbid the other thing. you should have coverage for that.
