The front is called the bow.
The back is called the stern.
When looking toward the bow the right side is starboard and the left side is port.
Going to the bow you are moving forward, Going to the stern you are moving aft.

1. Front=Bow
2. Back=Stern
3. Left=Port
4. Right=Starboard
5. Lighting, Green light is on the Starboard side. Red light is on the Port side. White light is on the Stern. To remember this put the shorts together, Red-Port. Green-Starboard. You can have a White light on the Bow as well, But only when you are at anchor.
