Yes, it is a completely random event. Although there is slightly more mass on one side, there isn't enough mass to effect its flip. The effect of inertia on the coin flipping is much greater than any effect by the uneven mass.

it is random if both sides of the coin are perfectly symmetrical.

well in theory it is yes. but if you look closly the coin has an uneven mass on one side then the other afftecting what side it will land on

i heard that it is more like to land on tails because the heads side is heavier.
