My husband & I (both English) got married in the USA four years ago. We applied for the marriage licence at the State County Courthouse and returned there after the ceremony to have it stamped & validated. We have always assumed there was nothing more we needed to do but now have a niggling feeling that perhaps we should have it registered with some government "body" in the UK to ensure it is legally recognised in the UK. Any thoughts / advice much appreciated!

No, it is fully legal and recognised in Britain, so long as you have a valid legal marriage certificate. You may want to register your marriage in the UK, visit your local Registrar for more information.

You ARE married. Imagine a world where people married in one country were not married in another. It would do wonders for the travel business.
