Do you really think Germany was really that good or that they had just gotten lucky with this past games because they just never really had competition?

No they are definitely a good team - they beat Argentina too, albeit by penalty shot. I'm happy they are out cuz I am an Italian Fan.

I don't think luck had anything to do with how well the German team played. They were a strong, cohesive team who played their hearts out up to the last few minutes of the game with Italy. They are to be commended for their performance. If there was anything else that may have influenced their play it may have been having home field advantage. I don't think it fair to say they didn't have any "real" competition. Making it to World Cup isn't a popularity contest. There may be other teams that aren't as tough or experienced, etc., but the way scoring effects teams and individuals forces everyone to give it their all. Germany certainly did.

I started to question how good Germany was when they played my country Poland for 90 mins without scoring. Way to go Poles. They held out for 90 mins with the Germans and only lost their concentration in the last 2 mins of added time. If the Germans were that good they would've killed us.
But having said that I think Germany played pretty well. The game with Italy was pretty even but in the end Italy outplayed them. Viva Italia!!!

They are a good team but they just didn't play well at all...I was disappointed in their performance and think that Italy deserves the win, though am really sad since I'm a Germany fan :(

No, not lucky. They did get past Argentina, and Ecuador was pretty good in groups. However, Italy did play better in yesterday's game. I'm saddddd that Germany lost though, because I rooted them the whole way through :(.

Everybody knew they were good, specially palyng at home. But, since the WC started, I had Italy playing in the final, so I wasn't surprised that Germany lost to them.

Yes the Germans have a good team that surprised a lot of people, just by getting to the semi's they proved that they are a team to be reckoned with, good young players for the future, they can only go from strength to strength.

while germany is a good team, i do believe that there r better teams out there, and that they had some luck, but then, everyone needs luck at some point.
and i am happy that they lost, but only b/c they lost to Italy, who is gonna win the cup

Germany was a great team not doubt, but they were overly confident of not losing to Italy.so i'm really glad they got serverd!

of course! THey did great!! Italy deserved to lose. Thos nasty italian bastards if portugal win i will hurt my friend Sheldon. I HATE ITALY> But im just glad Brazil is out of the World Cup.
