There are many hair removing products on the shelves. Ask the pharmacist for help or read the labels. These products are only temporary solutions. A permanent solution would be to remove the hair root entirely. And it's expensive. Should you choose the temporary solution the hair will grow back more evenly (and somewhat thinner) on the chest.

That area is very sensitive both for Men AND Women, and one wrong can damage it either temporarily or permanently. There are comple of ways to take in both directions.
* Temporary solutions:
-- Shaving -- By far, it is the safest method that anyone can take when they'd like to get rid of the unwated hairs here-and-there. You can control and feel how much you take off and where you shave, that way you won't accidentally cut yourself. If shaving too often in one sensitive area, it'll also create "razor burn" and your skin might become either numb or way too sensitive to a touch. To avoid any other complications just apply Vitamin E lotion to the fresh-shaven skin and it'll be healed within 24 hours and you have the "itching" after-effect of shaving. The only cost is the rasor and shaving cream (or, mild soap): $15-$20. Time taken: 10-20minutes. Lasts: about 3 to 5 days.
-- Lotions -- There's a brand of lotions that are wipe-on-wipe-off. You apply the lotion to the skin where the hairs are to be removed, you leave it for about 5 minutes (depending on the brand), and then gently wipe it off with a soft towel. Do not use soap and water on the same area for about 24 hours, because you can irritate it very fast. The lotions also come in variety of scents and vitamins that give the skin the softness, as well as soothing and smoothing effect. The only cost is the lotion and depending on the brand: $7-$15. Time taken: average of 5 minutes. Lasts: about 7 to 10 days.
-- Waxing -- This one is considered to be for dare-devils, reason being: it hurts! Depending on the skin and the spot to be waxed, it can either burn or harm the area even more. It's not usually recommended on the sensitive nipple-area for Men AND Women, because this little area has so many nerve endings and so thin as well as sensitive, that waxing can actually cause more harm than good. Depending on the circumstances, It might leave a little burn mark on the skin. You can either go to a professional salon or do it yourself. Just to let you know, here are the numbers for this type of hair removal:
** If you're going to a salon: The cost will be anywhere around $50-$150 (or, $200) depending on where you go. Time taken: around 30 minutes (with all the paperwork filled out) and about 5 to 10 minutes for the procedure (depending on who's doing the job). Lasts: total of about 6 to 10 weeks. Recovery time after the waxing, for the numbness, soreness, and redness to go away: about 2 days to 1 week (depending on your skin and how you well you take the treatment).
** If you'll do it yourself, it'll be a little bit more painful, will take a little bit more time, and you have to be more careful. You can get the waxing strips anywhere and in any stores. The waxing strips also come in different sizes. The cost of the purchase will be: $10-$25 (depending on the brand). Time taken: 30 to 45 minutes. Lasts: 5 to 9 weeks. Reason for this change in time is that you're doing it yourself and couple of hairs can actually be missed and/or not taken out completely.
Be exteremely careful as to how you use the waxing method as well as where you go for the procedure like this to be done. Take in mind that if this area will be injured or burned because of the waxing, it might go permanently numb or too sensitive. At times the modern medicine doesn't have any solution to this problem, and because of this you'll have to turn to Alternative Medicine and Therapies... and that will run up from $250 to $3,000 in healing and curing costs depending on the severity of the injury.
* Permanent Solutions:
-- Laser Hair Removal -- This one is one of the permanent solutions to the unwanted hair. It is painless, at times it might feel like a finger touch to the surface of the skin. Depending on how much hairs you want to remove, where the body part is and how soft / coarse the hair is, it might take anywhere between 3 to 10 procedures to fully remove the hair. The laser is used mostly on the surface and it won't burn the deep layers of the skin. The whole procedure takes about 25 to 45 minutes, and depending on who's doing the job and where you go for this procedure, the costs will run up anywhere from $450 to $5,000. The results are for a lifetime, and the unwanted hairs won't grow back for as long as you live no matter how hard you'd try to grow them again. There's also an "In-Home Laser Hair Removal Station" and it's sold at the participating Laser Hair Removal Clinics (as well as on-line). Depending on your level of expertese, the machines are also made for the amatuers and experts. The average cost of the machine is about $1,500 to $3,000 and it's yours to use whenever and however long you want. If to add up all the area you'd like to remove hairs from, the machine will cost a lot less than separate appointments and waisting gas to there would cost.
-- Electrolysis -- It is the second known permanent hair removal procedure. The only difference between this one and Laser Removal is that Electrolysis uses a "needle" to get to *every single* hair follicle to remove it at the root ("pocking" method), and plus to that it has a very small electric current running into the skin, that way destroying the hair at the root. It takes on average of 5 to 8 procedures to complete the whole procedure, depending on couple factors. The cost is around $600 to $6,500 for the whole procedure. The results last a lifetime and the hairs would never grow back ever again. I'm not sure if there's an "In-Home Use" Electrolysis system like for the Laser Removal, but if there's one, I believe it'll be about the same cost or maybe a little bit more expensive.
** In both Laser and Electrolysis Hair Removal Clinics, the caring Professionals have PhDs and MDs in every given field that requires for those procedures to be done correctly and without any mistakes. Check in with them ahead of time for a consultation or just an appointment to see if you'd like to go there for any future treatments. Make sure that you'll have all your questions answered, and all of the concerns / worries / problems addressed to.
Keep an open-mind on everything, because making one little mistake takes a second, but to correct it the lifetime may not be enough.
Best of luck to you and take care :)
