I spent exactly ZERO dollars, I live in a state where it is illegal to set off anything more potent than a sparkler, but my friend went to a neighboring state and spent about 125 dollars on random fireworks for himself; he lives in a major city and he probably could have gotten away with it.
If you're an apartment-dwelling penny pincher like me, you'd spend ZERO.

My homie spent around 70 and another spent like 200 so it depends on what you're buying and how much you can afford.

We have a great show in our town so I have never had to buy any. Other then sparklers or something. Then again my is my town , we are not aloud to have them either.
