My parents went there a few months ago, and a prostitute was found dead a few floors up from their room. I hear that there's tons of prostitution there, and I wasn't sure if it was legal or not. I hope that it isn't.

Prostitution is legal in all Nevada counties except Clark (Las Vegas) and Washoe (Reno). Hope your parent weren't traumatized too much by that, but it happens quite a lot. Sad.

In Nevada, prostitution is determined by county ordnance. In Clark County, which is where LV is located, prositution is illegal.
In the rest of the state, solicitation is always illegal (this is what most folks visualize when they read/hear "prostituion". Hooks standing around streets.) However, you going to a known "establishment" is entirely legal in a few counties, Clark County excepted, as mentioned above.

Prostitution is legal in Nevada. At least there are some licensed brothels; I don't know if the legalization extends all the way down to streetwalkers, though.

It isn't. Prostitution is legal in Nevada, but only within counties that have a population of less than 400,000 people.

I believe that it is legal in one area of Vegas, one county I think.

I don't believe that it is officially legal in Vegas proper, but another nearby county in Nevada.

I watched a special about one of the brothel's in Nevada that is legal, I think that the special was on Showtime, and it was rather interesting.

Love as always,

Sebastian

It's not legal in the city of Las Vegas, only in the outlying areas outside of Clark County. I hear in Pahrump it's legal, but it's all controlled, you won't see 'em on the streets there. You will see 'em on the streets and in the casino bars in Vegas. But avoid them!!
