Yes there is racism in america as well as the rest of the world. We typically see racism directed against minorities and that occurs quite a bit, especially to persons who appear of middle eastern descent. Unfortunately racism can also run the other extreme, some people use their race as a "crutch", instead of relying on their own hard work and initiative, they cry foul whenever a person in the majority gets promoted or hired before them, even though they aren't as good a worker. I'd say its a 50-50 either way some hire/promote majority people because of their race, and some hire/promote minority because of their race. Its not fair, I would never consciously do this and wish it weren't there but it is.

Sadly, the United States of America has a lot of racism, As history goes on, we see it with different cultures/types of people etc... Of course, you'd think that'd we'd learn our lesson and accept everyone for who they are and not judge by skin color, hair color, makeup style, clothing style, where they live, what entity they worship, how much money they have, but yet we still do it because we put so much value on such things... People see a black man and automatically think that he's a rapist, or they see a chick with blonde hair and a tan and think they're some idiotic bimbo who sells herself... They hear a guy talking about cooking/fashion etc and automatically assume they're gay. Of course, I will say this, religion is a major hinderance to overall acceptance of difference in the United States as well as in other countries and the media surrounding certain things about religion doesn't help either... A person hears about a Catholic child molester and begins to believe that all Catholics molest children... and so on and so forth...

It still exists. It's not as bad, nor as blatantly obvious as it was about 50 years ago, but it's still around and it's still a problem. And the problem starts in schools. In elementary school, despite attempts to educate kids, they are still to ignorant about other cultures and racial groups, and for that reason, seperate themselves into groups. It's not their fault, but it is true. We're working on it, but racism hasn't been eradicated quite yet.

There is a lot of racism in the USA, and its not all "one way". sometimes it seems like everyone's racist against everyone else. We all seem to have our own agendas...and if someone else doesn't agree, the first argument we hear is "RACIST!!!" I wish it would all just stop, but that's just me.

i think it's out of hand...and i can't stand racism anywhere, anyway or any kind. i hear it all the time (i'm white) about mexicans and blacks...and whoever else...and i can't stand it. EVERYONE has good and bad in their race. NOBODY can be judged as a whole according to their race.

I think racism is pointless, but it is still around... People are just quiet about it... Even though there are lot's of bi-racial couples (I'm hispanic and my bf is black), people still get treated diffrently because of there background...

I think racism is becoming less and less of a problem. For starters, more and more people are in interracial couples.
