Hello,

Im movin to Florida from MA in 24 days. Everything is going smoothly, but I dont know how I'll get my dog and cat down there. Because of the hot temperatures, they cant go in cargo on the plane. Does anyone know of any pet transportation companies in my area or nation wide that you have either used, heard of, or stumbled upon?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Edit: Thank you kindly judychampion. I will most likely book with continental for my pets. I live incredibly close to Boston and am moving to Fort Myers, so they should take off and land in those locations. Can I ship my pets but not go on that plane? I already have reservations with delta.

Continental Airlines does NOT have a restriction on shipping pets in July or August (unless it is something that just came about)
You would be able to ship through them, they have pressurized, air conditioned cargo cabins so the animals will be OK.
You may have to drive to an adjoining town to find a Continental serviced airport, they mainly travel to major towns.
You will have to have the animals up to date on shots and rabies, get an airline approved kennel (from Wal Mart)and a vet health certificate.
That runs about $40.00 if they are current on shots and rabies.
Ticket price per animal will depend on weight. (from about $115.00 for under 10lb and up to $250.00 for larger ones.) they weigh carrier with dog.
You will have to check with them, you may be able to put the cat under your seat, if it is not a screamer.
The number for Continental is 1-800-575-3335 (then press #8 to bypass most of the talk)

We transported 2 cats on United in the passenger cabin on the plane. I think they take pets 20 lbs. or less. You can put them under the seat in front of you. Also, I thought there was a special section in the cargo hold that was pressurized and temperature controlled for animals....you might want to double check the different airlines. Good luck!

I used O'Brien pet transport and they are great for both helping you transport a pet on a plane or for mobile transport.
If you go online and search for O"Brien pet transport, it should give the link to you.
It may be expensive but at least you will know your pets are going to arrive safely to their destination.

shipping by using air may be the fastest, and most inexpensive.. its round $three hundred or so.. some airways should be somewhat extra or decrease than that. the in ordinary words difficulty is that there are some reglations with regards to flying pets in the course of particular climatic circumstances. floor shipping is two-3 circumstances the fee of air shipping.
