some people think that microscopic black holes are actually possible but they would have had to been created under extraordinary circumstances and many believe that any present would have long evaporated by then (yes, black holes can eventually "evaporate" look up the theory of hawking radiation and the reason those jets are present on the black holes. Science fiction has toyed with the idea of harnessing the power of a black hole to fuel a planet and the energy produced by the black hole would be more than sufficient to solve our energy problems here today. however, harnessing a black hole is harder than it sounds, and it doesn't sound too easy to me in the first place. you would have to "tow" the black hole with something massive and bring it close enough to us that it wouldn't suck us in but we could harness the energy from it. even then perhaps the most we would be able to utilize from the black hole is the radiation it throws out which probably would have very adverse effects on the planet and its people and we might not even be able to convert it to what we would call "energy" for everyday use. if you would want to create a black hole you would also have to create a self susstainable fusion reaction (a star, essentially) and then have it collapse after running out of fuel and explode with a supernova, the result may be a black hole if we're lucky. even then i dont think it would be possible to contain it if we made one here on earth. but besides if we made a small star, why not just use that for an energy source?

A black hole draws in even it's own light, so unless you have a way to harness energy from Xrays, you're SOL even if you could create the thing. You'd be better off finding a small star and building a Dyson sphere.

ok can we even define a blackhole first? a black hole is a star that collapsed under its own gravity which results in a burst of gravitons causing infinite gravitational attraction. they are BLACK because black si the absence of light. light traveling at its 186000 miles a second cannot escape it. there is no such thing as a mini blackhole. the black holes singularity is infinitessimely small, tinier than an atom. so anyone that has blabbed on and on about creating a black hole must be out of their mind. and particle accelerators are used to bombard atoms and speeds near light speed, not collapse substances under their own gravitataional attraction.

Some think it is, it hasn't happened yet though. Some think we could make a mini black hole that could be controlled in the lab and use the energy pushed out by some kind of accretion disk.
