I know you've heard the phrase "God Works In Mysterious Ways". Our creator, does certain things that only (s)he knows why (s)he did them. (S)he causes something bad to happen because something good will come from as a result of it. For example: Hurricane Katrina, made many people realize that they had A LOT to be grateful for.

As is the rule of physics that disorder increases with time, the world is moving towards a disordered state. And the nature or the God favours this. The mankind, whatever it has done, has done precisely right. Even though it may seem wrong to the man himself at this period of time, every thing is going on as it should. What ever has started must end. Or else the system of the God will be disrupted.
A hundred years from now, the people would have found new ways to survive according to the world of that time. Man is dynamic, even a hundred years before, the same question was asked by many but see, we are still alive and surviving. Its the Darwins Theory, survival of the fittest. Man can adapt himself according to the changes. However since every thing has good as well as bad points, although he will be able to survive owing to his new developments, he will move one step more towards his own destruction. Only to be favoured by the nature.

The way you are asking is like an embittered employee complaining about what goes wrong in the Company with the employer behind you listening to every word you are saying.

Truly, God cannot act upon our lives due to free will. We do the acting, don't blame God for acting poorly, that was your fault. By saying powerless, you do not reside in his intervention: mankind will never have peace until a few centuries, will never solve the problems that plague the world, well, not in the near future since this world is Ruled By The Devil, well until Jesus comes again.

By saying that, God allows bad things to happen since either it'll make more good out of things or thats the way they're ever gonna learn. As St. Theresa of Avila: "Perhaps the most famous of her sayings was in response to God's "But this is how I treat my friends, Teresa." "Well, then, no wonder You have so few of them!"

Since God loves all creatures, he will let things go forth. Even Lucifer, the most hated upon, will be able to do things for him and all devils were all sent unto the earth, who seek the ruin of men, God's greatest creation. Now be happy that God hasn't allowed Satan a free hand. Why? Because that one chance he gets, we would all be struck dead.

So as a sum up, the reasons for suffering are A: God Permits it, B: The Influence of the Devil and his demonic intervention, and last but not least C: Our own fallen nature, our own selfishness, our own decisions that isolate and ostracize the gifts given to us.

Because suffering is part of spiritual growth. Heaven and eternal life will be our reward from God for having lived a good life, and having OVERCOME adversity and suffering- I can't imagine getting a reward for not doing anything. If no one ever suffered, there would be no reason for reward, and we would all stagnate spiritually. If every one was happy all the time, it would actually be a pretty boring life. Imagine a rich child who gets everything he wants from his parents, and who is used to getting his way 100% of the time. We generally call that 'spoiled'. A child who grew up with loving parents, but who might not have had all the advantages in life, grows up to be a more caring person, one who is emotionally developed and actually might have a personality.
That is why suffering is necessary. Besides, if no one ever died, then there would be no room for new births- no new babies, no growing families, no joy at a new family member. If no one ever got hurt, then the happy times wouldn't be as special. If you're loved one was never gone, you wouldn't be able to appreciate they're homecoming as much.

God is everywhere and the reason he does not stop the suffering is because he gave humanity the gift of FREE WILL. It is up to humanity to stop the suffering and to stop the suffering means re-evaluating what your fighting for and making the conscious choice to either suffer for it or not. He is like a parent, and like a parent, he has given you guide lines, rules and advice but ultimately, the choice is yours to follow those rules, guidelines and advice.

if god heaven and hell then our fleeting suffering isn't really a big deal. Maybe he snuffs out a million people just to convince one man or progress one story, this suffering is a blink of an eye in eternity and is meaningless.

I'm not religious but thought of this while watching the original star wars, obi wan knows the force is guiding all, luke shows up with r2d2, the messege is his sister saying this is her most dire hour, he looks at luke and says you must learn the ways of the force. luke's like i can't be involved, i have the farm and uncle won't let me. So they leave and low and behold lukes family is killed, suffering i might add, and now luke must go. the force guides all, it is his destiny. So the drama and tragedy is played out, so on and so on.

Much of the suffering we have brought on ourselves, as fallible human beings, not listening to the word of God.

God COULD end the suffering, but with no suffering, how could we really appreciate the gift of eternal life he's given us? No suffering would be heaven on earth, which will happen one day after the apocalypse. Until then, be as good as you can, help as many people as you can, and do what YOU can to stop the suffering you see.

Simple answer - human beings were given free will. Much of the suffering in this world is caused by the bad decisions that we, as human beings, make. Ultimately God gave humankind responsibility for looking after God's creation....and we've managed to stuff it all up!

Yes god is everywhere but that doesnt mean he is going to solve all our problems for us.. he watches over us but most of the suffering in this world is partly if not mostly caused by humans, by not jus automaticly fixing our problems i think god is trying to teach us a lesson. it has nothing to do with him being powerless

God gave us the tools to stop much of the pain and suffering in the world, he gave us his only son and the bible and the commandments, so he does not interfere with our free will but hopes that we will follow him and make right choices. Most pain is brought about by man.
