Both setups have good points and downpoints. Both generally require a lower combustion chamber pressure, and require additional fuel to meet the volume of air being forced into the engine. The turbocharger has an advantage over supercharging, however, in that the turbo does not rob power from the crankshaft to turn it; it uses spent exhaust gases to build boost. However, a supercharger gives you power from idle on up, while a turbo only gives power when there are enough exhaust gases passing through it to spool it up. So depending on your application, which is superior

Supercharging will give you more power but its far more costly, a supercharged engine will require modifications in increased fuel supply and the engine would have to be built stronger just to stay together.

Turbo charger are ok for increasing power and they are cheaper but superchargers produce much more power and torque...the supercharger rames air and fuel mixture into the engine...which is much better.

Hmmm..........personally i like turbochargers. Not old enough to drive. Closest I get is Gran Turismo. If that is anything close to reality, turbo is the way to go.
