No one really knows the aim of human creation. That is for the higher power to decide, not us. But our purpose, to live good, healthy lives and learn. Our goal? Enlightenment
As for why humans are cruel, not all are cruel. I'm sorry the ones he has known have been. If he is old enough to get away from them he should. If not and their cruelty is bad enough he should go to the police for help getting away from them. Some people abuse others to feel strong, others to try to transfer their own hurt onto others. There are many reasons, none of them good.
The best thing I can suggest is that he find the religion that feels right to HIM. That may be Christianity. It may be Taoism, Buddhism, Judiasm, Wicca, Druidry, Heathenism, Islam, or any number of others. The best one for him would probably be one that is community based so he can meet people that are like-minded and aren't cruel.
I hope this helps. Keep in mind, if there is reincarnation and you kill yourself, do you have to go through the same pain over and over until you learn the lesson you are needed to learn to move forward? If so, suicide is the worst option because the pain won't go away that way.

Be simple with him...
1. The creation of life is to spend your time on the earth with your loved ones until your time expires, and that's not your choice.
2. Some people are cruel and some are not, that gives balance to life. We can't live in a world of all good people, nor all bad people, that's why some people are cruel. Those folks just fill up your existence, that's all. The game is to stay away from those types so they run into others like them. That will be there problem, not anyone elses.
Good Luck!

Answer 1a (I hate three part questions): The aim of human creation is..... to exist.
Answer 1b: God created humans because....its way cooler for us humans to exist, than not to.
Answer 1c: the goal is.... have fun, reproduce, teach your offspring the same thing.
Answer 2a: Humans are cruel this much because....it is a natural function for many to establish dominance over others to make survival easier
Answer 2b: Humans abuse each other because.... some people just aren't right in the head.
Now take your friend back to the hospital, and remind him that if he kills himself, he'll never get laid ever again. Thats what helped me make up my mind, I was undecided until I realized I'd be giving up sex as well as everything else.

1) The goal of life-if there is one-and the reason for human existence cannot ever been known. Each person gets to have the life he creates and follow the path (i.e. purpose/goal) of his choosing. Each individual can have their own unique purpose; and none is better or worse or more correct than any other.
You get to choose what to live for.
2) Most of human cruelty and abuse is unintentional. We still struggle to survive. Kindness and compassion are skills that not everyone has been in a position to practice.
If the cruelty bothers you; then don't repeat it. Those who would abuse you, assert that you have no value. If you abuse yourself, then you are agreeing with them.

In truth, one has to find for oneself why they live, what they want out of life, and what they hope to achieve in the time they have. There is no apriori "aim" of human creation, nor any credible evidence that any supernatural agencies, such as deities, exist, much less that they created and/or direct human beings and their lives.
Human beings are cruel to each other most often out of sheer thoughtlessness. The next most common reason is because they possess a sense of lacking something either materially or within themselves, and they see harming others as a means of getting what they need to feel abundant or whole.
Your friend needs to be honest with his doctor. If he is considering suicide, he needs to tell his doctors, friends, parents, and therapists. He may need a brief stay in a facility that will give him time to receive the counseling and medication that he desperately needs. If you suspect that your friend is not being honest with his doctors, etc., then you, as a friend, are morally obligated to contact his doctors, parents, even the police that he is at risk for suicide and that an immediate intervention is necessary to save his life. He is not in his right mind and may not thank you now...but he will someday.

You can't control your friend from killing himself...When he has his mind set on it. There is not much you can do. And it is not your job to save him...
1. No one knows what their true purpose is. The best answer you will get for that is a guess..All you can decide to do with your life, is what to do while you are here..
2. Because humans are human. We are not perfect. If we lived in a perfect society without pain and suffering we would never learn anything. Without the pain and sorrow and all the bad we have been through, we would never change. You can't escape the bad in this world. All you can do is try to be a better person.

that's more than 2 questions and it's not worth dying for. people are living just fine without the answers to these questions
1. I am not Christian so I don't believe God or whoever created human. I think there a higher being, but I don't think he/she created the first humans. It's evoluation and your friend is here is because his parents made him. they slept together and that's why he's here.
No one have to live, people live to make a difference in one's live or other people's live. he became your friend, so he made some kind of difference in your life. people set goal for themselves, don't let other people tell him what to do. He doesn't have to believe in God if it doesn't make any sense to him.
2. not everyone abuses people, lots of people help each other. haven't he heard Red Cross and other charities are helping people everyday. why concentrate on the negative only?
Your friend has wasted too much time, instead of thinking about killing himself and cause pain to ones that love him. he should take care of himself and start helping others. stop being self-centered

1- The aim is like an experiment God made. He gave us everything to be happy and left it to us to see who will and who will not....meaning some will abuse the earth, people, life itself and others will take advantage of it and help people in Africa, save wildlife, or just be good people. The goal /aim was I believe to live and let live in the best way possible. But God is not responsible for our actions - its our own free will and choice what we do with that precious present we call life.
2- Babies are not born cruel - they are all good at heart. Humans become cruel through bad life experience (abuse, crime, bad luck, etc) or through genetic pre-disposition of mental disease, or because of drugs that make them loose control over their free will (any addiction for that matter).

I don't think I really have an answer for your friend. I believe it's something that's different from person to person. However, tell your friend that in order to find these answers, he has to keep living. Killing himself will not make everything better. In fact, it will destroy the lives of those around him. There's one thing I do know for sure, though, and it's that God did not create humans to kill themselves.
I sincerely hope and pray that there will be a happy ending to this.
