Because it's not a "priority" to them. They're too busy trying to figure out what to do about the war. It's unfortunate because no one in a country as wealthy as this one is should have to worry about the price of health care...actually no one in the world should have to worry about healthcare. The prescription companies are in with the insurance companies and as the price of insurance goes up, so does the price of prescription drugs. It shouldn't be that way but it is. We need some serious healthcare reform but I don't think that's going to happen while the Bush administration is in office. Hopefully once they're out, we'll get back to some of the serious issued plaguing our health care system. Of course we have to do something about Iraq and now it looks like North Korea but healthcare reform should be at least in the top 5 of things that need to be taken care of.

How is the Presidents fault that 45 Million people don't have health care. Is there something I missed? Life, Liberty, and Full medical and dental? That is not a benefit this country supports unless of course you fit the criteria and qualifications to be eligible, or an illegal immigrant. I agree with you on the pharmaceutical companies and that is something that should be addressed. The President has tried to go after the high cost of health care. Who do you hit first? The lawyers that are going after the huge settlement payouts for malpractice suits? The doctors who are paying astronomical premiums for malpractice insurance? Or the Insurance companies for charging the doctors such high malpractice insurance premiums because they have such high payouts. Sounds like a vicious circle to me. This problem did not start with the Bush Administration. But the Bush haters seem to think he can solve all the problems and if he can't, he's a bad guy. Well I personally would have liked to seen the past administration solve anything. If you have a solution I'm sure someone would like to hear it.

Because we have elected repuglicans, they do not care about the people, all they care about is enriching themselves and their rich buddy's. Why middle class Americans cannot see this is beyond me, they buy into the repuglicans are more moral. That is a just plain lie, There is nobody that works today that is not in danger of losing their health care. 45 million is a conservative figure, many are under insured with the insurance company's and pharmaceutical company's raking in huge profits. If you want to see a socialized medicine that works just look no farther then to the north. While there is no such thing as free health care as somebody has to pay for it, it is spread over the entire population and the government controls the prices. Canada has some problems with theirs but when ask Canadians will tell you that they would not trade health care systems with the U.S.

The real truth is Bush has allocated most of the money to go to his pet project-an Iraqi quagmire that was created from an illegal war. That same amount would've went to health care where 45 million Americans are lacking and other urgently-needed things we need in this country. And as for the drug companies, they don't give a rat's behind about nothing but the American greenback. All they do is sell their products at record high prices! It's all about the power of the money and the greed that comes with the territory!

The first time Clinton ran for President, one of their main subjects was health care they were going to do something about it, the first four years they did nothing, so the second time he ran again they ran on health care promises, on his last term the Dem's did nothing, so why are you blaming Bush, neither party dose anything. But Bush passed the new perscription drug bill for seniors, the Democrates did nothing ever. Seniors can now get their meds cheaper. Thats more than the Dem's did.

Exactly!
This is proof that the Republicans dont care about working class-people and they never will. THEY NEVER WILL.
It's just sad to see people with dirty overalls saying "I done voted fer Bush cause its better than those democommie homos".Those are are very people losing adequate insurance and pensions under Bush's plan to siphon money off the working class so the top 1% have more money to purchase oil stock.
And oh yeah, they use religion as a dishonest way of shutting up anybody who may think for themselves and bring this monstrosity to light.
Nice going red-state conformists!

The rupublicans are trying to pass legislation to limit settlements in lawsuits. Or did you realize that half your medical bill is malpractice insurance? Medical cost are going up because of lawsuits and protection from them.
Besides, by law you must be seen and given palitive and life saving care if you can afford it or not. Not having health insurance does not mean you cannot get health care.

What would you suggest he do? Everything he has suggested or put before Congress has been shredded to tatters by the Dems before it can get anywhere. As I recall, he submitted a plan (not IMHO a very good one) that was dead before it reached the Hill. I have yet to see one from any of the 535 members of Congress.

I wonder how much money SAM gives to Africa a year. PLEASE
They are trying to bankrupt the middle class and keep the poor in poverty so that we can have a nation of Poor and Rich people. Its much easier for them to rule that way.

He's a busy man and can't do two things at once....except drink and drive.
He's too busy having people killed to worry about people who are alive.
When all the people he wants killed off...are killed off...then he'll look at the health care issue.
Then again....he might be working on it right now.
The only problem is that we can't hear his prayers.
