Tell him exactly what you're telling us. Next time he text-msg you...tell him you'd really like to hang out with him...but you feel that he doesn't really mean it.

Or you can just start ignoring his messages...something I would do. Life's too short to mess with people who are not serious...I don't play around and neither should you. Find someone that is willing to give you the time.

I'd say let him know that it's not ok to lead you on like that and you won't tolerate it (to put up with it now says to him you're permissive and he can get away with a whole lot) He MAY not realize that he's been doing it and might turn a new leaf. He may show his true colors after being confronted. But it's not a good idea to let things get off to such a rocky start. Move on, and if he's worth a damn he'll not only apologize profusely, but he'll make good on his word to change. Don't stand for anything less.

Don't tell him you are doing this, but do a kind of "three strikes and you are out" deal. If he strikes out, then either tell him that you don't appreciate him saying he can hang out then bailing every time or just lessen contact with him so you don't keep getting hurt. Good luck! :)

How long has this been going on? If it's been a few months or so, I'd just tell him to call me if he wants to hang out and CAN hang out and leave it at that.

How old are you?

If you are 9, he is shy.

If you are 16, he is finding something better to do with his time. Walk away.

If you are 25, don't answer his next text and then see if he show up! Hey, 16, try that one, too.

He is amused that you are still trying to get with him. He probably has a few girls like you on his "leash" that he uses to brag about around his friends.

This guy is an all-talk no-action loser. You want him to act that way if he actually did date you? If so, keep pursuing, little doggie.

Just be honest and tell him how you feel about him. Ask him how he feels. He'll appreciate you being up-front about the whole thing.

You need to decide how you feel about him, and then let him know. It is so unfair to string him along.
