:D Not very likely at all, but i guess it depends on where the public school is, and what kind of people go there. i''ve heard about gun-fire at school and such a big deal is made about it (it is a big deal though) that it seems more likely to happen at other schools, but really it doesn't happen a lot. Besides, if you're worried just because you went to private school nyc, will it make you feel better that I know someone at my school that was from there also and doing very well?

What the heck kind of question???

Ok, you sound like a total pube now, so I'm betting better than 50/50.

Tell kids you moved from another public school and you should be ok. Otherwise, you know all those public school kids are packing heat so you better be careful!

Oh, gah, sorry. I probably shouldn't be catering to your paranoia. Anyhow, it really depends on which public school. Some are better than many private schools while others have crumbling floors, so a blanket assumption would be ignorant.

I would be more conerned about not being invited to the ultra-expensive private bording schools. That's where the real violence goes on. They teach you how to get other people to kill each other.

Colleges look at students of private schools better than most students in a public school. Even if you have a chance of getting shot, if its your future you are worried about stay in a private school.

probably the same as getting shot in a private school, I attended private schools and public schools, there was no real difference other than paying to go to one of them, kids in private schools are just as bad as ones in a public school.

Well im not from nyc im from California but i did attend publc school about the getting shot who knows really. I think its dumb to think of public schools as a place where your life is going to be at risk.

Working in a public school i know that the chances of you getting shot in a public school is less than half a percent. (in fact it is about .44 %), the chances of dying in a public school is about .05%.

It depends on where you go to school and who you hang out with.

But it's still pretty slim.

That's just one of the lovely stereotypes about public schools. Shooting could happen anywhere, at any time, and for any reason. You can't just assume that it'll happen because you didn't pay to get into the school.

LOL I used to go to a public school... you won't be shot unless that school is in the middle of the ghetto or something but, you won't be shot.
