Many woman get confused between periods and spotting. Yes, it is possible to bleed in early pregnancy also known as spotting or implantation bleeding (when the fertilized egg attaches to your uterus). Many women bleed or spot for a few months. It isn't actually a "period" or your "menstrual cycle" because a menstrual cycle is the shedding of the lining of your uterus because you are not pregnant. Light spotting is common however if you are bleeding heavily you should consult a doctor immediately.

No its not possible to get your menstrual cycle while pregnant, but it is possible to have bleeding which resembles a menstrual cycle. For it to be your menstrual cycle you'd have to be shedding the lining of the uterus due to you not conceiving and that doesn't happen when you're pregnant. But bleeding during pregnancy for various reasons is the cause behind many people not knowing they're pregnant until they are further along and in extremely rare cases until its time to deliver.

Some women have spotting the entire time they are pregnant, and some women even have what seem like normal menstrual cycles the entire time. The baby can attach itself to the cervix and this can be a cause. I would suggest if you do have bleeding, make sure you mention it to your OB/GYN but, don't worry too much, because stress isn't good for you or your little one and more times than not, it is completely normal.

Strange as it may seem my dear, it does happen to a few of us out there!
I know the usual thing is that when you get pregnant you stop menstruating, but in some very unusual cases, some women do see their period during pregnancy.
Some see it for a month, others five, and some others, see it for longer.
I may also just be spotting, which happens to a lot of women. This stops after a few days and doesn't happen again for the rest of the duration of the pregnancy.
In all of this, the most important thing is for the expecting mum to visit her Obstetrician/Gynecologist to rule out any danger. After that, she should just enjoy the pregnancy!

Yes u can. I had mine 4 the 1st few months of my 1st pregnancy and my son is normal. If it continues 4 more than 2-3 mths check ur doc. But even if u do c ur period during a pregnancy, it shouldn't b as long or as heavy as usual. Then u may have a miscarriage.

my gosh you all of us is soo dumb. no you cant have your general complete blown era even as being pregnant. once you get pregnant your body wont launch yet another egg subsequently you dont get your era. you could bleed even as pregnant of direction yet its not your era. those who dont discover out till they're pregnant till late idea that they had a era because it become mild bleeding that would of lasted for days or they bleed like a era yet isn't any way like their menstraul cycle. i understand im gonna get thumbs down cuz each and every individual knows someone to have a friggin era even as pregnant!!! the purely have you ever could have a real era is in case your uterus is chop up in 0.5 and also you may want to ovulate on one facet and be pregnant on the different yet that is soooo uncommon....

NO! Some women will have what appears to be a period. They are not true periods, however, because you do not ovulate when you are pregnant.

Women who bleed and have back pain or noticeable cramping should get to the doctor immediately...but you do not get a normal period while pregnant.

menses, by definition, is cyclical bleeding when you are not pregnant. Therefore it is not possible to have menses when you are pregnant.

Some pregnant women may experience bleeding when they are pregnant, anytime from conception till they deliver the baby. These bleeding episodes are not, by definition, menses. They can be due to various other causes, such as implantation bleeding, cervical polyps, cancers, placenta previa (low lying placenta), abruptio placenta (premature separation of placenta from the uterus) etc etc.

So yes, you can experience bleeding when you are pregnant but these bleeding episodes are not menses.

I odn't know if it is normal but I knew a girl that had a period the entire time. But if the blood is really heavy, bright red, or if it is really painful, you may have problems and need to go to the doctor.
