I think since she's a lawyer she probably knew what the penalty would be if she didn't stay on the show until her contract was up in September.

There's no action to be taken. Star announced she would not be returning in the Fall. She didn't quit, her contract was not being renewed (fired).
When she showed up for work the next day, after her 2-day early announcement, she was immediately terminated and barred from entering the building. So the fault doesn't belong with her.
I happen to like Star, but, to each their own. I just wish people would start getting the facts straight, since I've been seeing a lot of BS on this site about the matter.

The View can't take legal action against her. What would their claim be, that she announced that she was leaving on Tuesday instead of Thursday like she promised. Or that she told the truth instead of making up some lie about her finding another job like they wanted her to. If they know what is best for the show and their careers, they'll leave the past behind them.

I doubt legal action is called for since there aren't really any damages involved to the show. You would have to weigh the loss incurred versus the legal costs and expected outcome before considering any legal action, and I see no loss at all with Star Jones' departure. They both gained from the exposure.

I kind of doubt it, with all the publicity Star got from her childish actions, The View doesn't want any more to do with her. Good riddance to old rubbish Star.

I don't think that the producers of "the View" will waste their time on legal action. They wanted her gone anyway. I believe she will continue to do well without "the View".

No. I'd guess that they'd want to put that whole, distasteful chapter behind them.

Besides, they didn't want her to stay. They're GLAD that she left. They only wish that she'd done it in a way that was more dignified (for HERSELF, not for the show).
