I know what I want for a buisness, it is one of a kind. As far as I know. Some of you might find it offensive and some of you might not. I want to open up a plus size strip club, plus size only. I know there are a lot of chubby chasers out there, and I know there are a lot of plus size ladies that would probably do it, but don't now because they are intimidated by the smaller, skinnier girls. So this would give them the opportuinty knowing the men are there for them, not the skinny ones.

Just go down to your local courthouse, file a DBA (Doing Business As) listing which is around $20 depending which state your in.

Other items you will need to aquire:
Certificate of Occupancy for your retail space
Sales Tax ID
EIN (Federal Tax ID number since you will have employees)

For your EIN, go to irs.gov and apply online, it's free.

I think there are some fundamental questions you need to answer...

1. What kind of business do you want? Something where you get the formula and process/method from someone else (i.e., opening a Subway or franchise), or something where you build your own vision.

2. What kind of business do you want? Do you want a retail store, a service business, an at-home business, a part-time business, etc. Be careful about signing up for something that looks attractive, i.e., "work at home, get paid $XXX,XXX" - these are telemarketing jobs or other jobs that could potentialy have a big payoff, but they are not starting your own business.

3. What resources do you have? Money, time, etc. Are you going to keep working while you start the business? Etc.

There are many good books out there on opening a business, that give you suggestions on how to write business plans, where to get money, how to negotiate leases, etc. Before you get serious, you MUST write a business plan, which at least helps you understand the finance model, how much you could pay yourself, what kind of overhead costs you can sustain, etc.

There is the SBA - check out their web site. And once you get close, you can meet with SCORE, which is a free service in the SBA.

good luck,

First and foremost sit down and figure out what you really enjoy doing. This way your business will be more fun and you won't feel like you are working. Your business should be your passion other wise how are you going to sell your product to consumers.

Oh and if your ideas are unique and original you need to do more research to see where people can use your product in their everyday life.

Then continue your research by going to the library and looking for books on how to start a small business. Businesses need start-up money so while your there grab a book on government grants and how to write and submit grants.

The government has made it easier for the average person to get start -up money. They need to show the rest of America where their money is going it sure isn't taking care of homelessness or creating new jobs or lowering gas, SO They will be happy to give you money to work with.

Hope this helps GOD bless and remember your dreams will only make sense to you if you don't put them into action my friend "faith without works is dead"
