you could be pregnant, some women dont entirely miss their first ( sometimes second and third, too ) period when they get pregnant - if you are freaking out ( its normal, we all do sometimes :) , take a home pregnancy test
good luck

I have seen this question over and over and over and over..it's a bit repetitive. Most of these girls are quite young, and may not have taken a biology class in high school. I will however list a few general rules for knowing if and when you are pregnant. Ok here goes:

I don't care what people say, you arn't likely to show a positive result on a home test until you are about 5 to 6 weeks pregnant. Most test will advertise you can take the test up to 5 days before your missed period. All this depends on how much of the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin hormone or HCG your body is producing. However a doc can take a blood test to find out about 2 weeks after conception.

Most symptoms will not show until you can verify with a test, the most obvious being your missed period. However some can mistake what is known as implantation bleeding as a period. No matter what anyone says you can not have a "period" while you are pregnant.

A period is caused from shedding the uterine lining that builds up to "house" your impending baby, should one be conceived. When a bay isn't conceived you shed the lining, hence your period. Should you bleed during pregnancy your doc should know about it and moniter it. There are a number of reasons a woman could bleed during pregnancy. None of which is a "period".

Now, Back to symptoms. Some women experince Nausea as their first symptom and tender brest, bloating and minor cravings. Weight gain can be known to happen too. Most of these will not show until you are about maybe 4 weeks along..most of the time at least 6 weeks along, or 2 weeks after your missed period. This can differ among different women. You can however worry so much that you can worry your body into "believing" you are pregnant and thus causing your body to stress which will result in a missed period or nausea. When in doubt take a test or go to your doc. They have seen it and heard it all before!!

I sincerely hope this helps some of you. Another thing is that you can't possibly get pregnant unless sperm reaches an egg. Therefore you can get pregnant using the pull-out method, but not from anal sex. Just use safe-sex procedures if you want to avoid the whole confusing mess all together!

I did not mention that yes most all doctors will time a pregnancy from the first date of your last period, not conception as that is hard to determine. Thanks for all your imput..and might I stress that every woman is different. Things will not be the same with one female as they be with the next!

Chances are you are not pregnant. If you are so worried, go to your local Planned Parenthood and have a test done. The nausea could be caused from your ovary and some periods cause that. Good Luck

don't listen to all8418 posting. She is wrong. I am 21 weeks pregnant and I found out from First Response, 5 days before my period was due. Every body is different and if you take the test in the morning, you will have a higher concentration of HCG, if you are in fact pregnant. I hate ignorant people who post without any knowledge. Also as far as a blood test goes, she is wrong about that too. A doctor can do a blood test 10 days after conception to get a result, not 2 weeks after your period. What an idiot.

I wasn't going to reply to this but someone said if you have had your period you CAN'T be pregnant - and that's not true. Some women have their period all 9 months. Also someone else said if you weren't practicing safe sex there is a chance - that is TRUE but even if you were practicing safe sex there STILL is a chance. I got pregnant on birth control more than once.

Go to Wal-Mart, get a digital pregnancy test, and take it. It will tell you if you're pregnant or not. I'd wait a week or so and try not to stress about it.

In the future, you'll save some money if you just buy some condoms or get on birth control. Pregnancy tests are about $10, while condoms are only a few bucks for a whole package.

Yes you can be pregnant and still have your period. When you have a period right after or like a week after sex period, that period was already in the process of starting.. So you should wait and see if you get the next period. Just getting one a little bit after sex does not mean you will get the next period, and yes you can be pregnant and still get your period. You ovulate 2 weeks before your next period or 2 weeks after your last period. Sperm lives for 72 hours and an egg is like 24 hours. So even if you had sex and then 3 days later made the 2 week mark, those sperm even on their last leg could still have made it.

Seems to me you are in the same situation i'm in. Although i just had sex a few days ago and i came on my period the very next day. The answer to your question is yes there is a chance you can still get pregnant. Right now i'm scared as hell, because after it was over he told me that he had used a condom but he didn't get up to throw it away or anything, before we started i didn't hear him tear the wrapper or put it on, and i know for a fact he did YOU KNOW WHAT!!!! All i can say until i can really be sure is just pray about it. I will keep you in my prayers and will you please do the same. I wouldn't mind having kids in the future but right now that's something i'm not ready for. If i am pregnant i'm going to be very upset because he lied to me about doing something that he really didn't do. If you really think you're pregnant, go and get tested. And if you are then you need to start thinking about your options, and if you're not look at it as a blessing. I mean who's to say maybe it just isn't your time yet. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a chance that you could be pregnant. In January I had my cycle as I was suppose to, then my bf kept telling me that I was moody and needed to take a test and I refused to. Finally I took one the week I was suppose to start in February and it came up positive. When I went to the doctor I figured I would only be a week or two pregnant, I was 2 months and a week. So, I had gotten pregnant around December 28. The best thing to do would be take an ept test. Those test are excellent. Good luck and congrats if you are.

I don't know. Are you having unprotected sex? Anytime you are having unprotected sex there is always a chance of you getting pregnant. I had my period for the first 2 months of my first pregnancy, so if you don't want to get pregnant then don't have unprotected sex. Even then there is a slight possibility of you still getting pregnant. Be careful and Good luck.

Okay the people who are saying you can't be pregnant and have your period are crazy people!!! You can! My sister is going into her 8th month and she is still having her period every month like clockwork! Some people are just like that! Take a pregnancy test if you're concerned and I hope it all works out for the best ;)

if you feel weird the best idea is to go out and get a first response pregnancy test, they're the most effective as per all medical personnel i've spoken to, although you'll be nervous taking the test, just take 5 deep breaths in thru your nose out thru your mouth, make sure they're deep and take the test, knowing will feel so much better than questioning, and for future purpose try considering additional birth control, i.e. the pill, the patch, etc
