It is still possible to have a healthy pregnancy after tubal ligation. I have personally seen many such women.
However, if you are pregnant after a tubal ligation, you also have a higher risk of it being an ectopic pregnancy.
Therefore it is important for you to seek the advice of your obstetrician as early as possible in the pregnancy for an ultrasound scan or serial serum hCG levels.

Tubal ligation is where the tube is cut, and tied, so that it is not big enough for the egg to get through, down to the uterus. A sperm is a lot smaller than an egg, and may still get through. In this case, the egg cannot go to the uterus, and will implant directly in the tubes. This is a tubal pregnancy, and if not treated, will burst and cause internal bleeding in the mother, which may kill her.

Not a Dr., but I have had a tubal ligation. You should not be able to get pregnant if you have had the surgery, and it was done correctly. You would need to reverse the surgery , which then may or maynot work. If you get pregnant after having a tubal ligation there are bound to be complications with the pregnancy. Talk to your OB/GYN for clarification please.

I'm no Dr but I dont think you can carry a baby for very long if it is in the tubes. It will eventually rupture, right?
