I know that every woman's body is different and there is no exact answer but is there anyone who was on birth control pills for over 5 years and then got off to get pregnant? How long did it take?

I have been on the pill for 6 years and me and my bf are considering trying to have a baby (I am hoping to get off the pill soon) and I just want to hear other females' experiences........

I was on my 6th year of birth control-Yasmin. I got off mid-cycle in April and we've been ttc. (In May and June). My best suggestion is to get off your birth control after a cycle. So, finish your pack and get your period, then stop taking them. It took me all of April and May to get my period back on track!

Although once you stop taking birth control, you can get pregnant right away (the pill doesn't stay in your body...that's why you take one every day). But for most women, it takes between 3 and 6 months to get pregnant. For some, it can take up to a year.

Good luck!

I was on the pill for 12 years. I got pregnant my first month off. I took minipills for a little over a year while I nursed my daughter. Then went back on the regular pill for a few months, stopped, and immediately got pregnant again.

I know it can be a problem for some people, but it wasn't for me.

Sometimes I think people blame the pill when they really have no idea what a normal cycle is like for them. You know? If I had to tell you, right now, how long a natural cycle is for me and whether or not I'm regular, I couldn't do it.

On the pill for 6.5 years.

I went off the pill and got pregnant about 2 weeks later.

From what I had heard I expected it to take about a year for my body to adjust and to concieve. NOPE.

I was on BC for 6 years and it took me 8 mths to get pregnant with my son, I was then back on for 3 yrs and then it took me 3 mths for my daughter. It depends of course, but my girlfriend went off BC 2 weeks before her wedding and concieved that night. Once you go off the pill, check your ovulation time (you can do it online) and have sex at that time. This will definitly help. Good Luck.
