There aren't seats all the way around a race track in any motorsport. In Formula 1, the best places are usually in front of the pitlane, because that's the place where you can see all the action. And those places are also the most expensive. There are no grandstands in the dangerous areas of the track. Like where there is very little protection for the audience if there is an accident.

Considering more people attend Nascar races than any other sport, it would seem a good idea to build seating all around the track. At bristol when they added new seating they had to buy land to expand their parking, perhaps this is a reason more tracks dont have a full 360 degree seating area, lack of parking. By the way, EVERY nascar race is sold out, so more seating would mean more money, no such thing as empty seats at a Nextel cup race.Bush series is another story tho, and the truck series, they're lucky to get one stand filled.

it depends on the track. some do have seats all the way around, and some don't. it might be because, if u have a long track(NASCAR) then u wont need seats all the way around, because the seats on the straightaway are long enough to seat plenty people, where as if u have to many seats, they won't all be filled up, and that makes it look like there aren't verymany people there, when there is actually alot of people.

At some tracks like Bristol ,Martinsville, Richmond, and some of the other shorter tracks it can be done, but at the larger tracks it probably wouldn't work.Think about it would you want to be sitting in the middle of turn two at Talladega you could only see a small portion of the track and just think of how far away you'd be from all the other action around the track.Nascar could probably sell all around tickets at the mile to mile and a half tracks if they were decent seats.

Tracks that are 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 mile would have way too many seats that they could give away.

Because, if there is an accident, the people who are watching the race could run away faster. If they were seated, it will be a longer reflex time until they rise up and run, in the situation a race car is going around 80km/h or even more.

Some tracks there is. Not feasible at Sonoma, for instance. Then again, when a track is 2-1/2 miles around, its not necessary either.

it's a conspiracy by all the tall people in the world. they know that if there are no seats everyone will stand, and therefore all the short people will not be able to see and hence not bother going.... then they have eliminated a whole population from the betting pool and they have more chances to win!!!!

they put the seats on te straight aways most of the time, I think it has to do with the probability of the cars entering the stands there.
