Right now I have a wired router attached to the cable modem, but I would like to add a wireless router for other devices. Is it possible with a cable modem connection? Please be as specific as possible and I'll choose you as best answer. Thanks.

you get a wireless router, the also have 4 wired ports on them, you don't need the other.

What brand of Router do you have. Check the model to see if a wireless connection card can be added to it. Some LinkSys models allow this. If not, you'll need to either replace it what a model that supports both wired and wireless or extend you current router by adding second router that supports a wireless connection.

Actually yes, that's how my internet is set up at my home. My computer has the cable while my sister's computers and laptops have a wireless. first what you need to do is get one of those wireless modems. there you connect the blue (that's my color. the blue is basically the internet) to the wireless modem (kind of ironic) and then you have ot make sure that your laptops/or computer have the program that lets them connect onto the wireless internet. hoped that helped. oh some laptops or coputers might need to have that special thing in the usb to get connected. it sometimes depends.

you need to buy a ethernet splitter, which you can buy at radio shack. it's kind of like a power strip, but for ethernet cables. plug the wireless router into one ethernet port of the splitter, and the wired router into the other port.
