If you are keeping a fish, variety. Do not settle for one good fish food. Get many. Omega one and new life spectrum are my brands of choice because of their lack of chemicals. Try many different staples, pellets flakes, "veggie flakes", color enhancing, and a whole lot more. Then, get some nice "real" food. Freeze dried or frozen blood worms, brine shrimp, tubifex, are just some of the many foods. Also try them live every once in a while. Also, feed vegetables. A variety of peas, lettuce, zuccini and most other veggies boiled are great treats for even carnivores. Finally, try a fast. Every week for a day, do not feed your fish. This cleans up their digestive tracks

Feed once or twice a day, with just 2-3 flakes per fish, depending on size (applies to most fish 2-3 inches) or one small pellet. Bottom feeder appreciate a bigger pellet or wafers and tables. Algae eater like algae wafers. Obviously, get tropical food for tropical fish and so on

This is for most average community fish. Some fish require special diets, for example predetors are often fed a large meal then given no food for the following days

Depends on the fish. If it is a tank fish it would be saltwater or freshwater depending on whatever type you have of fish. It is a flake food at the pet store. Some fish eat brine shrimp. It all depends on the fish that you are talking about you question was not specific enought. It could have been an ocean fish, pond fish or one in a lake. Name the kind of fish.

Seaweed, sea plantain and other marine organisms. Some species nutrition includes smaller fish. If we're talking about "pet fish" living in your house in an aquarium then you can obtain the appropriate fishfood from any pet shop.
