One day you die. Then when you're about to go to the otherworld, There are two gates, one leads to heaven and the other to hell. Each gate has a guard standing next to it. You are told that one guard ALWAYS tells the truth and the other guard ALWAYS tells a lie. Now, without knowing which gate leads to heaven or which gate leads to hell, and, without knowing which guard is telling the truth and which one is telling a lie, what question will you ask in order to determine which guard is telling the truth and which one is telling the lie AND which gate leads to either heaven or hell? You are allowed to ask only one question, and then you have to make a choice on which gate to go into.. Your aim of course is to get to heaven.. = )

The question should be:

"If I asked the other guard which is the gate to heaven, what would he say?"

Then go to the other one.

The guard telling the truth, would tell you what the liar would say - the liar will point to the wrong gate, of course.

The lying guard will pretend to be the truthful one, so he will say the same thing.

Ask anyone of them this:

What do you think the other gate guardian will tell if I ask him where the right door to heaven is?

PROOF:

-Assume that Gate number 1 is the gate to heaven

Sample Possibilities:

a) Gate 1 is guarded by a liar and Gate 2, by honest.

since only one question is allowed, you can ask ANYONE of them. Below is their answer

---> if you asked the question, the liar will say "Guardian 2 would probably say Gate 2 (he is lying because Guardian 2 will absolutely say Gate 1)

or

--->if you asked the question, the honest will say "Guardian 1 would probably say Gate 2 (because he knows that guardian 1 is a liar and he will lead you to the wrong door )

therefore, they will both ALWAYS point you to the wrong door. Choose the door that they will not point.

Experiment with the remaining possibilities and you'll end up finding the right door thru that question.

Assuming the truth teller guards the gate to heaven and the liar guards the gate to hell. You ask:

Which is your gate. the liar will point to heaven as will the truth teller.

Ask one of the guards what 1 + 1 =

If the guard says 2, go in his gate.

If the guard says anything else, go in the other gate.

Before asking my question, I would get on my knees and beg for my fathers forgiveness. And then I would ask him to show me the way to heaven. A bright light would then envelope the correct gate. At that point I would know the way.

The gate of heaven is ever before you right now. To open the gate, the question to ask is, "How can I help?" Knowing that you have helped others is the bliss of paradise.

i would ask the most simple question ever, wich everyone knows the awnser to and if u are lied, u know about it.
id ask what 2 plus 2 is. We all know ts 4, but the oher guard would have to lie, no? anyways, if that question wont do, i hope i have lots more time to think of one

ask them "if i asked you which gate this was, what would you say?'

The truth teller would give an answer that is truthfull, and you can base your choice on it.
The liar will lie about the answer he would give, which would mean he was giving you the truth (i.e. if the liar would say "heaven", in this question he would say "hell" which would be the truthfull answer).

Jesus Christ is my Savior, which gate do I enter
to meet God?

But really, ALL Souls go to God. He will decide.
Jesus the Son of God said, "ALL THOSE THAT
BELIEVE IN ME, SHALL BE SAVED".
No man goes to the Father, but through the Son.
AMEN
