Intelligent designers seem to keep a straight face just fine. It is me that has the problem keeping the straight face.

I only manage it when I'm talking to very old addled people and people whose native intelligence is not up to snuff. Then I just nod and say, "Hmmmmm".

Intelligent designers remind me of the people who can't lose an argument so they always have to come up with one more thing, no matter how ridiculous. And say, "and there, see there, huh? huh?"

Hmmm... Let me get this straight. So you beleive in "Evolution"? Have you looked at the thousands of different types of DNA strands in just one of earth's species? And we have thousands of different organisms on this planet. And to say they all evolved from a little one celled organism in the very beginning. How could so many diverse species have evolved from one celled creatures? Not possible. Oh, and another question, if you will. If everything came from a living one celled animal, how'd we get the millions of different plants that just so convienently fufill the needs of the creatures living there. And how did the food webs just so convienently organize themselves? You do know that one of your leading scientists, and true blood atheist, who would have cussed you up one side and down the other if you said we were put here by God, when he looked at the millions of different strands and how infinitely diverse they were, he calculated the odds of evolution again. And guess what? He found that not only was it impossible, but that the number was so small, if was barely worth saying. Somewhere about the Zillionth place value. (That's to the right of the decimal.)

They have been tediously taught, again and again, to question nothing in regards to faith...as determined by a particular cult of Christian origin. Actually, the word is "hammered" to the point that any fact in science must be dismissed as heretical, sinful, with a final result of burning in hell for eternity. Thinking is synonymous with sinning in most of these cults. Good grief! How in the world would the preacher make a living if his congregation thought of anything other than what is spoon fed to them. They are taught at an early age that the only answer to questions such as yours is , "Read the Bible." That usually ends all sane conversations.

It's because most humans would rather 'believe' than 'know for certain.' Apparently ignoring logic and denying evidence for evolution secures a loftier place in the afterlife than does being an intellectual on earth.

It's vexing that no matter what science proves definitively, many people (like Randal M) will blatantly deny it and instead believe in whatever folklore is most convenient for them.
