It's very simple. Start taking privileges away. Put the younger one in time-out. Also, DON'T ANSWER THEM WHEN THEY ARE RUDE! Kids HATE this! It infuriates most of them. They either start talking nicer OR you get a whole day of silence.

And with the privileges, always start small so you have enough room to keep taking things away until the behavior improves. Once improvement starts, you can start giving the privileges back, telling them they have once again earned the privilege to do/have/watch, etc., whatever you took away!

Don't listen to the idiots posting here who are telling you to "whoop their a**es" or "pop them in the mouth." You're trying to teach them respect; hitting them only teaches that bullies get respect and might makes right. Just take a deep breath and remember....THEY ARE JUST CHILDREN. When the day is thru, do you really want them remembering that you were violent with them, or that you were kind, patient and understanding? They will be better people if you lead by a positive, non-violent example.
No spanking, no yelling....it works.

I still can't believe that there are people out there that have never had a spanking and think it is beating a child. It is different for different children, even if they are in the same family. Growing up all my parents had to do with me was look at me the wrong way and I would be so sorry and start crying. My two knuckle head brothers both needed to get spankings to get the point across. Certainly you never want to beat a child and child abuse is very serious, however, spanking a child is not beating them.

smack the older one in front of the younger one and see if the younger one does it again? i dont mean a violate slap, just a stunning slap then send the older one to her room or a room that doesnt have a tv or phone and then have the younger one check on him/her every half an hour. if that doesnt work, put them in the corner with phone books on their head and their arms out for an hour, hour and a half. or make both of them sit in a well lighted area and write 500 times i will not back to my mom cause it is rude and disrespectful. physical pain associated with bad behavior will change their minds on back talking real fast!

When I find that my boys try to start that up every once in a while this is what I do.....I raise my voice an octive and explain things. I don't scream or shreak. I pull them up by an ear and escort them to the bathroom. I then proceed to watch while they wash their mouths out with Lava soap for 2 minutes. After they have to do this a couple of times the problem pretty much goes away.
Good Luck!!

warm the both of them, that your not playing. Try time out, but hell even super nanny knows that don't work very well..... do the old fashion thing, right on the butt cheeks, SMACK! Give both of them a lick for their ages. 3 years= 3 smacks! Then make them both sit down seperated. They keep it up, you keep it up. They'll be ok. Lil *** whoopin never hurt nobody.

Time out for back talk followed by an apology. They all need to see that there are consequences.

They need to know that it's not acceptable behavior. Use negative reinforcement to correct if it continues (take away something they like - such as dessert, a favorite toy, etc...)

I dont recommend to spank the children, but sometimes they need to know who is right, do it to the older one first, snd that wsy the youngest one will know what will happen to him if he does it too.......
