I ordered something from Amazon.com. I was recently sent a card telling me to pick up the package my self. I was wondering why should I pick up the package myself when I paid for shipping and handling. I called the number on the card and all they can tell me is "Sorry Miss you have to come in and pick up the package". I also was told the reason I had to come and pick up the package was because I gave them the wrong address. If I gave them the wrong address then how where they able to send me a card at my address telling me to pick up the package. Has anyone else had a problem like this before? and also what should I do? Should I pick up the package? Please help!! Thank you..

It was a card from UPS. UPS is not that far from my home. I just think it stupid that I have to pick up the package and I paid for shipping and handling. I ordered a few books from them. They could't have come to my home I was at home on vacaction from work around the time they said they were gone come.

Ya, honey, hurry up and get it. Most places send them back after a certain amount of time. It happened to me once with UPS and I get UPS all the time. The place is two towns over and I don't have a car, but I had to go or they were going to send it back. It's stupid, but what are you gonna do? You want your stuff, right?

Yeah, I am wondering what you ordered... possibly something they would want to discuss with you?

My other inkiling is that it is not Amazon leaving the card, but UPS, FedEx, or the Post Office. If you are not home and they try to deliver certain things you may have to go pick them up. Normally FedEx and UPS will allow you to sign the card and hang it on the door and then when they redeliver, they will leave it. However the Post Office only tries to deliver once.

UPS will try to deliver your package 3 times and if you are not there to receive it you must pick it up on your own. It only makes sense really I mean 3 attempts is fair.

was it amazon.com that sent ou the card or the post office.
i've had post office leave me cards to pick up stuff but never from amazon.com do you live anywhere near their dc's
normally the order is cancelled on the wrong address.
i would be very wary of going and picking up something from anywhere but the post office
