Jump in the car and go rainbow hunting! Use the pot of gold at the end of one to place a down payment on an island. On the next rainy day you could stay indoors and fashion a boat. Then on the next windy day, ste sail and you're away!

We play in the rain. It is more fun then being inside. You can put on some boots. Go jumping in puddles with your kids. They will never forget it, I guarantee they will carry that memory forever. Step outside of your box, do something different, make a rainy day a celebration.

Video games ... and I'm serious. There is nothing more enjoyable for a child if his/her parents will play along with them. It doesn't have to be anything gruesome/vulgar, e.g., GTA, Doom, Leisure Suit Larry, etc. Try a sports game like Top Spin or Hot Shots Golf, or party games like Mario Party or Fuzion Frenzy. Video games are totally underrated and stereotyped by parents as a time waster, or something to keep the kids busy.

Board games, boring. Play every song you own referring to rain and choreograph a rain dance. Songs about rain... Annie Lennex, Here Comes the Rain Again, Creedence Clearwater Revival I wanna know have you ever seen the Rain, Supertramp It's Raining Again.

Rain never hurt any one. If the rain isn't too cold take them out to play in it. It's going to be a good memory for the children and your self. Paint, make up silly songs, fill a sink with warm water and dish soap and play with the bubbles, read them a story, then have them read you a story, cook with the children, have them get out ingredients, stir things etc,. The things to do are endless. GET CREATIVE.

Yeah, that happened to us too! We put on our wading overalls and went fishing in the basement! (The water level always rises down there in rainstorms- and since all the worms resurface outside we never run out of bait.)

Seriously tho, we have so much fun making these little boats out of almond shell halves, a little gum on the bottom, toothpick sections, and stickers for sails. We have boat races in the gutter.

Pin the tail on the Guinea Pig.
Ring around the bathtub.
Monotony.
Aggravation and Sorry.
Connect the pixels.
Mousse-ical Hairs.
PILLOW FIGHT!!
There is one game that I found to be quite fun. Smarty Scramble. You require vaseline and Smarties (M&M's will do because they won't lose color so readily).
You holler 'Smarty Scramble' and toss the candy out on the lawn. Smear the vaseline on the door knob and go back to Yahoo Answers. It will entertain them for hours.

why not try to catch or at least count rain drops.. This will improve his/her imagination power, and great passtime as well..
and, if you may consider helpful, turn it into a contest between your kids, this will be teaching and helpful about life. I really do not need to remind you I believe though, but still do not forget to let everyone win : )

Of course depends on the ages of your kids. My son is almost three years old and he loves all sorts of indoor activities, including arts and crafts and playing with his hot wheels. Most recently we take out one of my board games and we play with the pieces - not playing the game of course, but matching colors to pieces, etc...

Have fun
