I am truly amazed at those girls, I am not really a country music person but when I heard those girls for the first time I knew they were different.
They are artist, great ones, they express themselves the way they choose to, and they have the right to. You don't have to agree with them but what is with the witch hunt.
I love them even more now especially with the new song that says I am not ready to play nice. Ohh they are my girls I am buying an album they have a new fan R n B with hip-hop meets dixie chicks.
What I say they should branch, and stop the collonization by the country group, they are way too talented for that small unit

I really don't care really, I say they have a bigger fan base and they should branch out. Look at hip hop they called it everything but we still stood by our people now every Tom Dick and Harry is now a rapper.
Forgive me for saying this most 'rednecks' are cowards they don't do anything unless the mass agree they lynch in grps, head up witch hunts and say things about you behind ur backs. When the ratings change for their bad behavior they turn around and want to play nice. Even those who claim to be KKK don't leave the backwaters, can't confront you without a gun and can't stand up for themselves. They pick on anything or anyone different from them and we all know thats the way they are.
If we agreed with everything they say hmm we would still be in slavery. Go on girl some white folks had to stand with the black folks during segregation with the detriment of 'the country music folk'. Keep doing your thing dixie chicks hate who you want after all the media hates rappers.

Slim, first thing Country music is the second best selling genre in the United States. So that is not exactly a small unit.
What happened is that when they were over in England a couple years ago when the war with Iraq started they made a statement saying that they wanted to let people know that they were ashamed that the President of the United States was from Texas. I know that in today's world that people should not be so offended by that and so on. However, talk about being a bunch of jerks.
First, when over in England, they were protesting the war heavily and even calling ALL Americans some not so nice names and so on. They had a concert scheduled at the time. So after seeing all of this and having their own personal opinions, she impulsively went ahead and made the statement she did in an effort to gain brownie points over there and make their tour a success. She even apoliogized and then took it back and so on. To me that was not cool at all and I do not listen to them anymore. You are on foreign soil and open your mouth and bad mouth the very place that you made it at??? Without this country they would not have the record sales they do and would not have been as popular. I mean I do not agree with everything that President Bush does, however he was elected and should be given the respect of that office. Too many people today have no idea what respect even is as they are all so self striving. Also, if you do not like this country then no one is holding you back on leaving.
I am not saying a person does not have the right to speak what they are thinking. However when you are in a place where you are popular and so on, your words have to be used carefully.
Look at it this way, if you were in a relationship with someone and they bad mouthed you to save face, how would that make you feel? I bet not the happiest!
They should have stuck to what they know best which is their music and should have kept their mouth shut. Now they are all political and all about being able to stand up for thier rights now. I am not sure when they will start being honest about what happened. However pride cometh before a fall and they are fallin pretty hard.

Many people became upset when they went to a foreign country and said that they were ashamed that the president is from their home state. Personally, I feel that they are free to hold and express any opinion they want. My personal beef with them is that they chose to air their opinions that are critical of the president before a foreign audience. Given that the audience probably held a good deal of anti-American sentiment to begin with, it really strikes me as pandering. I feel that if you have a problem with this country, then you discuss it here at home and try to affect change. Mouthing off about our president to people overseas is in no way constructive, and that's why I and a lot of people have a problem with them. Finally, they got bent out of shape because of the negative response of their fans, but if they have the right to say what they want, then their fans also have the right to stop listening to them. What's good for the goose...

They were in one of the most conservative music fields (Country) & gave off very UnCountry opinions. Yes they have the right, but so do the people who don't agree with them. When they became unpopular there was no sales for their "goods". It's a Supply & Demand, Freedom at it's best.
I was a huge fan & am sorry to see they ended up in such a pickle.

They had a concert in London...and then the lead singer took the mic and said she was embarrased to say she was from Texas - same place where President Bush is from.
People from Texas didn't like it...nor did the surrounding states. You just don't go overseas and bash a President. Doesn't matter if you agree with his views or not...
There is enough Anti-American bashing around the world...why would an American go and bash an American President?
I don't agree with Bush's views either - but she should've use the stage for her talent...not for her political views.
Bush is the President...and he needs to be respected...as I mentioned above...I don't totally agree with his views...but I would never ever go overseas and spew hatred like that.
I hope they can recover...I too like their music.

This is my country. The people of this Country elected Pres. Bush. I don't care if you agree or disagree with him he deserves the respect that that office affords. Especially when you are in another country! Be an American. Be proud of your Country. OR GET OUT!!! Exactly what has this spoiled little rich brat given to her country? Nothing that I know of. It was and still is a publicity stunt. I will NEVER listen to another song by them.

They opened their mouth. If the lead heffer had the balls to state what she did in america it would be different. Insstead she did it in another country. Then came home to apologize and cry, only to start running her mouth again. She isnt a polotical figure, in fact she is a southern inbred cow, so her opinions while dualy noted dont mean s*it.

They did nothing wrong. One spoke out against Bush, and all the pansy republicans cried and boo-hoo'd and pouted and acted like little babies because they were offended.
Now that he's down in the polls, the Dixie's are climbing back up.
Sort of like a teeter-totter.

Even President Bush stated that they had the right to certain themselves yet you do might want to stay with the aftermath of what you assert. As for humorous, not something a lot on MadTV is truly humorous. The writing on that teach is second price.
