I think its all relative. What brings one person joy may not work for the next person. Sometimes to be able to live and survive on this planet we have to do things we don't enjoy. Working is essential especially when you have a family to support. Look at all those devastated villages in Africa and the Middle East. For them even existing is a hurtle they must over come everyday and I'm sure they are not enjoying it. If we can sustain living by doing what makes us happy, then you are really lucky to be able to do so. Its the small things through out the that people should do that will make their days more enjoyable.

That's a deep question. I guess I do things that don't really bring me happiness (like doing laundry, going to work, taking out the garbage) because in the long run, in the grand scheme of things, those mundane chores that in and of themselves bring no happiness, are building blocks to what does bring me happiness. I take out the garbage so my house doesn't become a health hazard. I do the laundry so my clothes are clean and fresh when I wear them. I go to work so I can pay my bills and afford to go on vacation or out to dinner.
But... a clean house, nice clothes, vacations... those kinds of things only bring happiness. Not joy. I think joy is an internal thing that comes from deep spiritual fulfillment, communion with God on a personal level... NOT religion.

Most people waste time because they are afraid of doing something real. They pull the wool over their own eyes and let life dictate what happens to them. Enveloping one's life in things that aren't important, examples being, involving organized religion, broadcast news shows, pointing out others faults, and so on, are opiates, drugs.
Maybe most people's daddy's didn't show them how to cope with life's problems. Without proper coping mechanisms people turn to things listed above and more.
I see the world as it truely is. A construct in our mind's eye. The world is made up of programs that are dictated by the operating system which are the physical laws, and vice versa. Both are intfinitly connected.

What would really bring happiness? Would you like to be a part of someone else's happiness or fears? The idea is...being selfish is not the solution to the world's problems. Being aware and helping to be a part of the solution (rather than the problem) in world events is a measure of your own spirituality.

I don't waste my time on doing things that don't bring me happiness because like you said, I only have one life. I have been in situations in the past that I was doing something that did not bring me happiness but I refuse to have any part of something that stresses me nowdays.

Really good question! A lot of people spend their lives trying to get rich, with money and material things. But think about it have you ever seen a hearse with a luggage rack?

I think I do, but I can't know for sure because I can only see my perception of what the world really is and I can't know for sure if that is the way it really is.

Yes, we are a parasitic species who desecrate anything we come in contact with and are concerned only in our own self-preservation and gratification.
