What do we mean when we say the human beings are "creative"?

Human beings do draw on their learned skills and responses to deal with situations and problems presented to them on a day to day basis, but it takes creativity to know which of these skills or reponses to use and when or how to do it. Add to that the inventive nature of our life species. We also visualize the finished product or project when we are being our most creative.

Hardly. If that were the case, we'd still be lumbering along on all fours pretty much like the rest of the animal kingdom. And you wouldn't be asking that question as there would be no language or independant thought, just rudimentary communication on a basic survival level. There certainly wouldn't be any computers, let alone electicity, houses, cars, toilets, running water, religion, etc., yadda, yadda.

Creativity comes in many forms. Everything from art, dance, archetecture, interior design, carpentry, playing or writing music, & decorating is considered creativity. When someone comes up with something different and original they are considered creative.
