I have 5.5 weeks to study for the Series 7 exam in which I begin today. Does anyone have any advise?

Do it. If you have software that can quiz you it really helps because then you know how well prepared you are prior to taking the test. There may be online review exams as well. Check Kaplan and Dearborn press.

You can probably get a book with sample exams from Amazon.com.

I have always found the pre-tests really useful because they point out what you don't know and can make you a lot more confident going in. Start the self-testing about a week ahead of time.

Good luck.

Most of it covers ethics and regulations, though there will be some math relating to how to figure yields, etc. Make sure you understand all the common option strategies.

Wish I could remember more. It's been nearly a decade.

Good luck.

It isn't a particularly hard exam -- especially if you have some knowledge of financial instruments. If that is you -- you only need to learn the ethics question.

The way I studied for it was to take sample exams. That told be what I knew (and didn't ahve to study) and what I didn't know (and had to read about).

Good luck.

PS -- if you got over 80, you studied too hard.
