He rambles on about dumb stuff and wont do what he needs to do. Should I tell him or just grin and bare it?

He is your boss who are you to tell him not to talk to much and do his work.You do what you have to do get your check and move on.He is your boss and he can fire you.So you would have to make a chose say something and loose your job or suck it up and get a check..

Grin and bear it. No boss is perfect,and if that's your biggest
complaint then you're well off. Some bosses are a lot worse,
unfortunately.

Well, first off, you can post the question to the right board! Careers & Employment might be a start...

But to answer your question, it's not your position to question your boss' activities, at least to the extent that they are not illegal. If he's interfering with your ability to work, just politely tell him that you have work to do and leave it at that.
